Nominations Open for University Governance Staff Representative and Staff Senate Leadership

University Governance Staff Representative and Staff Senate Leadership Nominations

A hallmark of the shared governance system at Virginia Tech is that it truly is shared. Staff, faculty, administrative and professional faculty, graduate and professional students, and undergraduate students all have seats on University Council and on the various commissions and committees.

To make the system work, the Staff Senate has a commitment to nominate and elect representatives to fill these seats. Eligibility requirements are provided by the University Council Constitution and Bylaws. Some seats are open to university or classified staff members and non-student wage employees. Some seats are open only to employees currently serving as a staff senator or alternate senator. The charge and membership of the commissions and committees can be found on the Governance page at https://governance.vt.edu/.

The list below contains the open seats for which the Staff Senate is currently seeking nominations of staff and non-student wage members, staff senators, or senator alternates as indicated. Terms are for 3 years.
